The Combined Martial Arts Academy (CMAA) was the inspiration of Senior Instructor Glen Gardiner who envisioned a training facility where people could train in a supervised, safe, and clean environment. The academy offers students the unique opportunity to learn an eclectic assortment of combative and realistic Martial Arts techniques from numerous systems at the one training facility. The CMAA is a "Non-Profit" Club. All instructors donate their time, and experience receiving no payment whatsoever. Donations for participating in training are accepted. These donations are used to pay for the facilities and their upkeep, purchase or repair of equipment, pay for the expenses of guest instructors traveling to the dojos to conduct seminars, and assist club members traveling to compete in National or International competition or attend seminars and training camps overseas. The CMAA currently have training locations in Jakarta, Blitar, Malang, and Balik Papan - all in Indonesia and are affiliated with clubs in Cairns, Townsville, Canberra, and Adelaide in Australia. The CMAA also has affiliations with clubs in the USA, Japan, and the Philippines. The CMAA currently conducts training classes seven days a week focusing on the martial arts systems taught, Zen Goshu Goshin Jutsu, Cacoy Doce Pares Arnis/Eskrima, International Batto Do, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Akido. The academy also conducts specific classes for children and self-defense for men and women as well as fitness training in addition to normal training classes. The CMAA currently offers after school activities for the Australian and New Zealand International Schools in Jakarta. Fitness classes are conducted seven days a week. The CMAA offers a broad range of realistic and combative styles to students. All training is well supervised in a safe and responsible manner in a clean and well equiped facility. All instructors are highly experienced and qualified. The CMAA has developed for the benefit of all participants risk management, OH&S, and safety policies and guidelines. These policies outline the commitment of the CMAA to provide a safe and secure training environment for all their members.
