 | The Cacoy Doce Pares World Federation was founded by Supreme Grand Master Cacoy Canete, one of the original founders of the Doce Pares Arnis Eskrima school in Cebu City, Philippines in 1932. This system incorporates the fluid elliptical striking techniques for which Doce Pares is famous. Disarming and Eskrido throwing techniques are also included as is grappling from Pangamut, Suntok, and Dumog. The style is realistic and combat-focused employing continuous, rapid, and fluid motion when striking displaying versatility and agility. | | Training includes full contact sparring with an emphasis on speed and power without sacrificing the style’s unique, continuous and fluid use of motion in the application of striking technique. Speed is essential to the system’s explosively powerful, short striking style, which is devastating when effectively applied. Training is well supervised and safe, achieving a balance between realism and responsibly managed training programs. Fitness is an essential element of the system with experienced fighters (Eskrimadors) capable of hitting the target area consistently at a rate of approximately 160 strikes a minute. | .jpg) | | Class is conducted every Wednesday (18.00 - 20.00) and Saturday 08.00 - 10.00 | | Supreme Grand Master Ciriaco "Cacoy" de la Cuesta Cañete The Grand Master is also a member of the Hall of Fame, to wit: Int'l Martial Arts Times Magazine Supreme GM of the Year - Pakistan, May 2008 Doce Pares Legend - Cebu City, March 8, 2008 Cebu Eskrima Society-Cebu City, November 26, 2006 Martial Arts History of Museum— Los Angeles, CA, October 16, 2006 World Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame— Los Angeles, CA, June 2005 Philippine Martial Arts Legend— St. Louis, Misourri, July 2004 World Martial Arts— Columbus, Ohio, July 2003 Most Distinguished Grandmaster of the Year— St. Louis, Misourri, July 2003 Blackbelt Hall of Fame— Los Angeles, CA, December 2000 Filipino Martial Arts Hall of Fame— El Paso, Texas, July 2000 Cebu City Sports Hall of Fame— Cebu City, February 1977source: docepares.com
