Zen Goshu Goshin Jutsu

Zen Goshu Goshin Jutsu is a modern martial art rooted in Okinawan Karate, Goju Ryu. It is a self-defence system that is combat-focused, realistic, and eclectic having added combined combative elements from boxing, wrestling, grappling, throwing, Mu Thai, and others.

The style incorporates five primary ranges: long, medium, close, take-down, and grappling. The underlying concept of the system is simplistic: attain power through speed and accuracy while maintaining a fluid and dynamic interpretation of movement and balance.

Consideration is given to the following:
The speed of execution, technique, body movement, and the ability to make a decision.
Accuracy in the choice of required responses in the given situation, application of that response to the target, distancing, timing, and the appropriate use of force.
Power in the economy and concentration of force, application spielautomaten of technique, and methodology.
Maintenance of fluid movement and physical and mental balance at all times.

The system aims to cover many self-defence eventualities: training includes stand-up striking (kick/punch/elbow/knee), throwing and take-downs, ground fighting, submissions, locking, and joint control techniques. The approach to teaching the system is to concentrate on basics then coach individuals in the application of appropriate technique according to the system's principles. It is important to be able to operate effectively in all ranges while moving seamlessly between each developing the ability to respond instinctively, displaying fluid and natural ability. Structured safe training is results-orientated, focused on skill development through repetition, continuous employment of technique flow drills, and the development of power. This program results in increased fitness, flexibility, and strength all-important elements improving the application of technique. Learning the system provides obvious self-defence benefit and improved quality for a healthy lifestyle.
